Auditors from Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have found billions upon billions of dollars being pilfered from the U.S. Social Security Administration.
To give you a broad overview of the thievery, there are 60 million more Social Security recipients than the 337 million supposed American citizens! There are checks going to individuals said to be more than 150 years old — some as old as the founding of the nation.
In a skirmish over the weekend, the acting commissioner of the Social Security Administration — Michelle King — refused to provide DOGE with access to the agency’s sensitive files. Rather than do so, she quit. It’s not clear at this time which specific records led her to resign.
Meanwhile, it appears that much of the money has disappeared overseas, suggesting there could be elaborate rings that have been organized to exploit and pocket American fraud.
