Meme Stocks Creating Havoc

Meme stocks continue to create havoc on Wall Street and they aren’t going away anytime soon. It’s a scenario that has taken the hedge funds by storm, where individual investors band together on social media to promote trending stocks, usually to meteoric heights, as was the case with GameStop earlier this year and more recently AMC.

Gunjan Baner Ji, financial correspondent for the Wall Street Journal, says the meme-stock phenomenon has basically pitted social-media investors against the expert hedge-funders and the little guys are winning. Baner Ji joins Just The News AM host Sophie Mann to explain further.

Benefits Fraud Jump 4,800%

Fraudulent activity related to weekly pandemic enhanced jobless benefits continues to rise to historic levels, according Eva Velasquez, CEO of the Identity Theft Resource Center. Discussions in the media and government circles are saying the fraud issues were a 2020 problem and are in the past. Not true, says Velasquez. “If anything, they’re are getting worse.” Here’s more on the problem, courtesy of the Just the News channel.

Job Numbers A Head-Scratcher

Dr. Dave Brat, dean of the business school at Liberty University, says the April employment report is so disappointing, the data make you “scratch your head.” The April economy added an anemic 266,000 jobs, far below the 1 million predicted by economists.

It’s puzzling because almost every economic chart is improving, but the employment data point is squarely a big hit on the poorest Americans. Brat says the policies of the Democrat Party have again widened the income gap and the top one percent are getting richer, erasing all the economic gains of the Trump Administration. And perhaps the biggest culprit is the free money being handed out by the Democrats. “The disincentive to work right now is really bad,” he says. Here’s more with Brat on “The Water Cooler,” with host David Brody.

Sen. Paul Unoads On Dr. Fauci

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul says Dr. Anthony Fauci is showing something that science doesn’t support. Says Paul, “So almost everything he’s telling us is tinged with a certain degree of fear, but a certain degree of delight that he gets to be in charge of your behavior and he can dictate how you live your life.”

Appearing on Real America’s Voice, Paul was asked by host David Brody if he thought Fauci was deliberately misleading the public. Surprisingly, Paul says that like many liberal elites, he feels Fauci is well-intended, but views the American public as too stupid to make decisions, so he will make them for you. In the process of doing that, Paul says, he’s capable of skirting the truth a few times. Tune in to hear Paul further make his case on this clip, courtesy of Just the News.

Stimulus Nearing $3 Trillion

Congress is on the verge of spending another $3 trillion in stimulus and coronavirus pandemic relief, including another defense bill appropriation, which will likely push the national debt to $28 trillion by the end of 2021. It appears an additional round of individual stimulus checks for Americans is on the table, although the amount is still being debated.

On the other hand, Nicholas Ballasy of Just the News is reporting that debate over relief funding for state and federal agencies is at an impasse and might well be left out, much to the chagrin of Democrats. Maryland U.S. Rep. Steny Hoyer told Ballasy that this stimulus package is just short term and that there will be another round early on in the Biden Administration.

“If you look at the projections, we’ve got a $3.3 trillion projected deficit by the end of this year,” Ballasy says. “And then looking forward to the end of 2021, the debt will exceed the size of the entire U.S. economy.” Here’s more from “Real America’s Voice” on Just the News.

Bodybags for Blackpills

You are the hammer, not the nail. A rant by RazorFist.

Ex-CIA agent Robert David Steele and Jerome Corsi, a Constitutional scholar, offer a stunning Master’s Class in how President Trump will win in Congress — and how Democrats are scrambling to blackmail selected individual members to get tied delegations to switch to Biden. This video is a little longer than one-hour, but well worth the time.

The Just the News founder and editor-in-chief John Solomon breaks three incredible developments from the Just the News election investigation. The largest revelation follows the enormous $350 million that Mark Zuckerberg spent to try to influence the 2020 election.

Trump Pardons General Flynn

President Donald Trump issued a full pardon on Wednesday for retired General Michael Flynn. The general has been tied up for four years in a series of fraudulent charges leveled against him by corrupt officials — first in the Department of Justice, and later a Democratic-appointed Judge who refused to allow the DOJ to drop the charges as Attorney General William Barr had requested. It’s good the President has finally closed this travesty of justice.  More from Just the News.

Confederate Leaders Were Dems

The latest resurgence of racial violence across the nation has revived the movement to remove monuments and statues of the Confederacy from the public arena. The most recent came from Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who is calling for the removal of 11 statues of Confederate leaders from the Capitol building in Washington. Not surprisingly, nine of these leaders were members of the Democratic Party.

Take Jefferson Davis, who served as the president of the Confederate States from 1861 to 1865. As a member of the Democratic Party, he represented Mississippi in the U. S. Senate and the House of Representatives before the American Civil War. Then there was Edward Douglass White, who left school and enlisted in the Confederate Army. At the conclusion of the Civil War, he served as a Democratic senator from Louisiana and later was appointed to the Supreme Court. These are just a couple of many Confederate Leaders who faithfully served the Democrats, the party of slavery, Jim Crow and segregation.

Tune in as Just the News features more mini-bios of the men behind the statues in the nation’s Capitol building.

Yovanovitch In Hot Water

Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, the Democrat darling of the Ukraine hearings, may not have been totally honest in her testimony. Documents show Yovanovitch’s impeachment testimony left out mention of meetings with and letters she received from Burisma Holdings representatives, detailing their efforts to get out from under an investigation before Trump became president. “She didn’t mention any of those,” says investigative reporter John Solomon of Just The News. “And there’s only two good options here: One, she falsely testified knowing she had these contacts, the second is she didn’t review these documents before she testified. Not a good situation for the hero of the hearings.” Here’s more from Solomon and U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on the “Ingraham Angle.”

Virus Bill Could Hit $40 Trillion

Congress is rapidly approaching $3 trillion in coronavirus spending and the Federal Reserve Bank is projected to loan out another $4 trillion in loans. Says Kentucky fiscal conservative Congressman Thomas Massie, “If those loans go bad, which is a distinct possibility in these uncharted economic times, then this has been a $7 trillion bill instead of a $3 trillion bill.”  But Massie says the outlook is considerably more dire. He projects the $7 trillion will easily reach $20 trillion and, with the Fed’s balance sheet rapidly growing, we could easily see a $40 trillion deficit when the pandemic ends. Massie sorts out the details with host Nicholas Ballasy on Just The News.
