Chloroquine To Treat Virus?

All of Italy is now in a lockdown state. The United States is experiencing a growing number of new daily cases of COVID-19 and testing remains limited in many parts of the country. Dr. Seheult illustrates compelling articles about the possible efficacy of chloroquine in the treatment of coronavirus infections and its role in aiding cellular zinc absorption. More from Medcram.

Here’s another chloroquine analysis, from Bill Still with the Still Report.  He says a new possible treatment – or even a cure – for coronavirus had been studied extensively in China and South Korea and now a new study showed that it’s true. Hydroxychloroquine is an inexpensive drug widely used to treat malaria and autoimmune diseases and now has proven to be effective against coronavirus. The best news is this drug is cheap – about 5 cents per dose – and is readily available and can be prescribed by your doctor.

The Stanford University study shows that 600 mg of Hydroxychloroquine – or HCQ – per day killed the coronavirus in 90% of patients. HCQ works by allowing zinc to enter virus-infected cells to disrupt their ability to reproduce. More studies are needed, however, it is likely that the remaining 10% of patients for whom HCQ did not work could have low blood levels of zinc that could be boosted by zinc supplementation. Sublingual zinc – that is, sucking on zinc tablets – was shown in a 30-year-old study to shorten the duration of the common cold virus, but swallowing zinc tablets didn’t prove to be as effective.
The current theory is that HCQ opens a pathway for zinc in the blood so it can attack the coronavirus more effectively.

We believe that the Trump administration should immediately do whatever is necessary to make HCQ widely available if it is not currently available. We believe this is the cure the Chinese are currently using on its own population because it appears to stop coronavirus cold, and that’s before the addition of additional zinc is added. One of the author’s of the Stanford study appeared briefly as the last guest on Laura Ingraham’s show last night. He had a bad internet connection, so I had to edit down his comments to remove the dropouts in the video.

The predicted lockdowns are already starting to happen. Italy, Spain, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Israel and a growing number of countries are locking down their borders and tightening restrictions on movement. More and more US states & cities are banning public gatherings and forcing closure of non-essential businesses. Rumors of a coming national curfew circulated Monday.

Meanwhile, food and pharmacy shelves are being stripped bare . Even the slow-movers are now panicking. A similar panic has gripped investors. The stock market is experiencing a historically vicious sell-off — after falling 24% by the end of last week, the Dow is down another 13% today. So far, no matter what the Federal Reserve and world governments have pledged, the market hasn’t been convinced it will be enough.

It’s a global fire sale. Investors want the safety of cash. And they’re selling everything to get it. Such is the psychology of crowds. When the herd is spooked a stampede ensues. And this is with less than 4 thousand confirmed coronavirus cases in the US. How will the herd react when that number is 4 million? More from Chris Martenson.

Here, The Edge of Wonder tackles the coronavirus coming out of China, giving a much-more detailed, lively and informative presentation of the truth. China has revamped its reporting rules. As part of the revamp, two of its mid-level Commie bosses got fired. The end result: We are seeing a bit more accurate totals now, but probably still quite fudged to downplay the extent of the disease. Oh, boy…the scientific research on covid-19 (the new name of the Wuhan coronavirus) continues to reveal what a huge challenge containing this virus is. A new report from Los Alamos Labs calculates its R0 at between 4.7 to 6.6. That is massively contagious!

It’s little wonder then why we’re seeing more and more reports of doctors and health workers falling sick, despite using proper PPE and contamination protocol.

China, which bumped up the number of total infected within the country by 33% last night, is clearly facing a public health nightmare of epic proportion. As we keep saying, we think the true reality on the ground there is even much worse than the official numbers we’re being given. That said, China’s totalitarian approach of mandatory home quarantine for hundred of millions of people is likely the best way to fight a virus this contagious. Nore from Chris Martenson.

We’re At A Pandemic Now

Dr. Gregory Poland, professor of medicine and infectious diseases and the director of the Vaccine Research Group at Mayo Clinic, and Dr. Scott Gottlieb, Pfizer board member and former FDA Commissioner, join the CNBC “Squawk Box” to discuss the spread of misinformation on the coronavirus. Dr. Poland says, “We’re basically at a pandemic now.”

Chris Martenson agrees we have reached the pandemic stage. Whether or not this can be corralled really depends on efforts to contain it over the next two weeks. This includes refocusing on Third World locations where the virus could be festering but so far has not been reported: Particularly Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. Martenson emphasizes: Now is the time to get prepared. Have ample supplies at home so if you are forced to sequester inside, you can last this out.

More than 24,000 are now infected. That’s because the length of the infection is quite long, as much as a month. The coronavirus can also survive outside as long as five days, so this is going to be the pandemic from Hell. There are two new epicenters: In addition to Wuhan, we now have violent outbreaks in Zheijang and Guangdong. One of the biggest problems: Both China and the World Health Organization grossly underestimated the extent of the coronavirus for weeks. So we are left now trying to play catch-up.

On Feb. 1, Adrian Bond wrote an article called “Coronavirus Exposed, Part 1: Communist Coverup, or Pandemic Weapon of Mass Destruction.” Within two days, the piece had disappeared off the the Internet. Was this article deleted because the author knew too much? Mr. Obvious explores the possibilities and also reads from the censored article, which he managed to find elsewhere.

As the Wuhan coronavirus spread worsens, the financial markets are throwing one hell of party, hitting record highs. Yet the world’s #2 economy, China, just hung up a big “CLOSED” sign — stocks should be tanking hard here. How can they shrug off the virus’ threat to global trade?

Chris Martenson believes that government intervention is at play here. There are few things that send the soothing signal that “All is well” more than higher stock prices do. As politicians say: “When it gets serious, you have to lie”.

Folks, it looks like the coronavirus is so serious that governments are in full panic-suppression mode. It’s becoming harder and harder to trust the official guidance being issued — we need to educate ourselves as best we can.

Meanwhile, the new data we are gathering suggest the virus continues to be more contagious than previously expected…

The catalyst for WHO to declare a global pandemic over the coronavirus has just happened. We now have 18 cities — and climbing — under lockdown from the virus, most of them in China. Some nations, like Mongolia, are sealing off all of their borders in an effort to stop the spread of this contagion. Lisa Haven has more.

One myth we can dispel. The spread of the disease will not stop with the arrival of warmer weather. And we are likely at least a year away from there being an approved vaccine that could stamp out or curb the coronavirus. Initial estimates: The virus could easily kill 100,000 worldwide, perhaps much more if it spreads rapidly through Third World nations, like India or those in Africa, before vaccines are available. How long before we have a vaccine? Anywhere from three months to a year or more, depending on how quickly labs outside China can secure samples. Already, a lab in Australia believes it has successfully duplicated one strain of the virus.

On Tuesday, United Airlines announced it was suspending most daily direct flights between Dulles International Airport outside Washington DC and Beijing in China, owing to many Americans canceling their flight plans. American Airlines is continuing its flights, but now allowing passengers transfers and waivers off scheduled bookings. Also, American Airlines is allowing its pilots and plane crews to wear face mask on flights to Beijing and Shanghai. British Airwaves, meanwhile, has announced it will cease all flights to China.

Also, Thailand said the government has been unable to stop the spread of the coronavirus across the nation as some 22,000 tourists from Wuhan visited Thailand in the month of January, exposing vast numbers of citizens to the virus.
