Dive Into Valley Of The Planets

Spherical rocks, close encounters, and ancient civilizations: all this and more on Edge of Wonder.

Our world is full of mysteries and wonder. Sometimes, an official explanation makes sense, but other times, it seems that those explanations obscure the truth of what these mysteries actually are.

Today, join us to dive deeper into the strange formation (or creation) of Libya’s Valley of the Planets: spherical rocks that are millions of years old and look like some sort of astrological chart.

Also explore the Devil’s Tower in Wyoming, the place Stephen Spielberg used for his Close Encounters of the Third Kind movie. Here’s more from Edge of Wonder co-hosts Ben Chasteen and Rob Counts.

Fishy Act Blue Donations Probed

“He did not do $300,000 worth of anything in three years,” exclaims Pam Fridrich, wife to Heinz Fridrich, when presented with Federal Election Commission data by an OMG Citizen Journalist in Fernandina Beach, Florida, claiming the Fridrichs donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to ActBlue. When asked if they had made the contributions, Pam responds, “Not to my knowledge.” The Fridrich family, overwhelmed by the allegations, remains perplexed by how such large sums could be attributed to them.

Across the country, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Elaina Bulow, a devout Democrat, is reportedly linked to around 830 donations totaling roughly $111,000. Bulow, who regularly monitors her bank statements, was outraged when presented with the FEC data, stating bluntly, “What’s on that website is a lot of bullsh*t.” Despite being a frequent donor, Bulow denies contributing anything close to the reported amount, saying, “Not that much… Not $111,000.”

Similarly, Salt Lake City, Utah, resident Marilyn Shearer found her name tied to nearly 3,600 transactions totaling over $133,000. Shearer admits to donating regularly, stating, “I donate quite a bit, probably every day, which is frustrating.” Despite her frequency in donating, she is stunned by the transactions attributed to her name. When questioned about the possibility of donating upwards of $100,000, Shearer shook her head no in disbelief.

The ActBlue donation legitimacy issue is escalating, with attorney generals from Texas, Wyoming, Missouri, Virginia, and two anonymous states launching investigations into the organization’s questionable fundraising practices. Here’s more from the O’Keefe Media Group.

McConnell To Step Down

U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, has announced he will step down as Minority Leader of the Senate Republicans after the 2024 presidential election in November. McConnell will not abandon his Senate seat until 2027, so he’s simply relinquishing his leadership role. Here, Styxhexenhammer666 suggests that declining health as well as the rising fortunes of MAGA pretty much sealed McMcConnell’s fate.

Who will take his place? Styx is rooting for Rand Paul, but much of the early speculation is focusing on a trio of Johns holding key leadership positions beneath McConnell, including John Thune of South Dakota, John Cornyn of Texas and John Barrasso of Wyoming. Florida’s Rick Scott challenged McConnell for the past last year, so Scott could also re-emerge.

The picture should become much clearer after the November election, especially if Trump wins and prevails upon the Senate to adopt an approach more favorable to MAGA. Also, let’s hope the next head of the Republicans in the Senate is Majority Leader, leaving the leftist dingbats in the dust.

U.S. Hits Rare Earth Jackpot

More than 2.34 billion tons of rare earth minerals have been discovered in the vicinity of Halleck Creek, north of Laramie, in the state of Wyoming. The minerals include oxides of neodymium, praseodymium, samarium, dysprosium and terbium.

Previously, Communist China was thought to have a virtual monopoly on these rare earth compounds, but the U.S. mother lode is at least 20 times larger than what the Chinese can tap. These compounds are used in smartphones, electric vehicles, airplanes and for other industrial purposes.

The Edge of Wonder‘s Rob Counts touches upon the implications of the discovery here, while also delving into Chernobyl’s anticancer wolves. Also on tap: Katy Perry gets a miraculous or angelic sign from “the beyond” after her manager Martin Kirkup (who also managed Counting Crows, Tracy Chapman, the Go-Go’s, Adam Lambert, and more) passes away. There’s also another look at the 2024 Super Bowl and how it made some unexpected history.

First Strike: Do We Survive?

Could the United States survive a nuclear first strike from Russia and Communist China? That’s the key topic of debate on this new edition of JustInformed talk.

Much depends on how many Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) are fired, as well as their targets? Would they be aimed at the so-called “nuclear sponge,” the five Great Plains and Rockies states (Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska and North Dakota) that house our nuclear arsenal? Or would the attack focus more on huge metropolitan areas, for instance, New York City or Washington D.C.?

Also, would the launches come from Russia and Communist China, or from submarines close to our shores? There’s a lot to unpack here, so let’s dig in.

Was Balloon American Vessel?

The U.S. government apparently shot down what it has called a “high-altitude surveillance balloon” near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Saturday. Naval and Coast Guard crews were scouring the coastline for any signs of debris. A Naval salvage vessel has been summoned.

On Friday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed the balloon was Chinese, but denied it was a spy balloon. Here’s a report on the originala balloon sighting in Montana from Breitbart News.

Wild theories abounded. Some worried that the Chinese are trying to conduct surveillance on U.S. ICBMs, or Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles.

But another theory arose from Real Raw News. Its reporter Michael Baxter claimed the balloon wasn’t Chinese at all, but instead was launched at Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington state to keep a bird-s-eye view on a gathering of militia in Montana. This gathering was said to involve conservative members from the region, including not only Montana but also Wyoming, Idaho and possibly surrounding states.

Baxter claimed the U.S. military under Joe Biden’s regime didn’t shoot down the balloon because they launched it. They could have also used satellites for surveillance, but Baxter implied that much of the satellite system is now under White Hat control, and thus, out of the reach of Biden’s puppets. Again, we have no way to determine the accuracy of his reporting. We simply bring it to you to offer another perspective in what’s been a wild source of speculation over the weekend.

Here, Martin Brodel offers more details from Baxter’s story.
