Why Not Be Self-ish?

People vilify business for being “greedy.”

Yaron Brook calls that a cultural problem, the idea that “when you pursue your own self-interest, or when you produce and create, you are somehow a villain.”

Brook is the chairman of the board of The Ayn Rand Institute. Here, he sits down for an hour-long interview with John Stossel.

Among the topics they cover: Selfishness, immigration, war, love, liberty and, of course, Ayn Rand.

Bitcoin Millionaire Targeted!

Meet Joby Sinclair Weeks, the bitcoin millionaire from Breckenridge, Colo., who has become one of the most targeted individuals by the federal bureaucrats. The founder of the Bitcoin Network, Weeks has been indicted on charges of running a Ponzi scheme and evading taxes, among other charges. He’s holed up now in his parents’ home, where he spends an hour relaying his incredible story to David “Nino” Rodriguez.

It’s a wild story, to be sure, involving his political campaigning on behalf of Libertarian Presidential candidate Ron Paul,  his soirees in the Caribbean and across Europe and Asia, and even an impromptu raid he staged on Jeffrey Epstein’s Little St. James Island sanctuary in the U.S. Virgin Islands. What’s most amazing: He’s actually smiling, and even occasionally laughing, as he relates some of the most harrowing adventures ever.

If Hollywood wants to resuscitate its shattered box office draw, this is the kind of story that could most certainly fuel at least one decent feature film. Here’s more from Rodriguez’s YouTube channel.

Let Them Drive Cake

It’s electric. Boogy-woogy-woogy. More in a rant from RazorFist, who recommends putting Kamala Harris on the job because she’s got a lot of experience getting drilled.

Evolution of a Revolution

Does it get any better than back-to-back Intellectual Froglegs? Joe Dan Gorman deserves his own TV show. But as long as he’s not on your TV sets, we’ll make sure he has as large a platform as possible for his videos. No one else better expresses  the sentiments of “Deplorables” across America. We are ready to significantly trim and reshape the bloated federal government. And how about the arrogant media that so widely projected an easy victory for Hillary Clinton in 2016? As Joe Dan reminds viewers, quoting from Ayn Rand: “You can ignore reality but you can’t ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.”

Abolish the IRS

Yaron Brook, president and executive director of the Ayn Rand Institute, calls for the abolition of the IRS, saying the agency’s targeting of Tea Party groups because of their political views demonstrates that the IRS has become too powerful and corrupt to remain intact. Failure to reign in this rogue agency will lead to an erosion of our civil liberties and freedom of speech.

In the same vein, US Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-South Carolina, delivers an epic takedown of the IRS for its exorbitant spending and lavish employee conferences, all undertaken as the rest of the country was facing furloughs and economic hardships.

Meanwhile, Sen. Marco Rubio is on board with simplifying the tax code so the IRS can be downsized. “Our tax code is way too complicated,” the Florida Republican says.

Hedge Funds Get a Bum Rap

“Although I’m hopeful about the individual, I’m very fearful about the direction that, politically, this country is going,” says Capitalist Pig Hedge Fund Manager Jonathan Hoenig. He sat down with Reason.TV’s Tracy Oppenheimer to discuss why hedge funds are a boon for the economy even though they get a bum rap, and why he thinks Ayn Rand’s ideas are crucial for a cultural and economic upswing.
