Hollywood’s Condescending Left

Iconic actor Matthew McConaughey has had enough of secular Hollywood’s condescending culture, calling out his fellow colleagues on The Joe Rogan Experience. McConaughey says that although he hasn’t felt the brunt of Tinseltown’s radical shift, there are circumstances where some of his close colleagues have shied away from him.

Meanwhile, British conservative author Douglas Murray gives his take on the issue, explaining to Dennis Prager why the Left is so engaging with cancel culture. “The Left has done a good job of giving meaning in a meaningless age,” he says. “The cancel culture comes about because of God-shaped holes. It gives the day a purpose, it gives the life a drive.” But Murray laments that it’s an ugly, retributive drive and says conservatives, unfortunately, have forgotten about this void. Here’s more from McConaughey and Murray in this episode of PragerU.

Who Was Abraham Lincoln?

Not long ago, the idea of Americans tearing down Abraham Lincoln’s statue was unthinkable. Then it actually happened. And another in Portland just this week. Here’s why Lincoln deserves to be remembered. More from PragerU.

Free The Freelancers

It makes sense that the best way to protect the rights of workers is to let them determine their own job preferences, or mandate that companies provide them with certain protections. California has chosen to take an alternate path via legislation of Assembly Bill 5 (AB5) last year with a stated goal to protect independent contractors, aka freelancers, from employers taking advantage of them.

Has it worked? Sadly, no. It has pushed thousands of workers into the unemployment line due to its Draconian provisions, such as limiting the annual amount of work of freelancers. Bolstered by union support, attempts to repeal AB5 has failed and the danger of similar legislation spreading across the country is very real.

Patrice Onwuka, senior policy analyst for the Independent Women’s Forum, looks into the flaws of AB5 and her findings may surprise you in this episode of PragerU.

How To Steal An Election

Eric Eggers, of the Government Accountability Institute, asks the daunting question, “Is there anything wrong with universal mail-in balloting? The answer is a resounding yes.

No national election has ever been conducted in this manner and the probability for political misconduct is extremely high. Eggers says there are three reasons why elections have never gone this route and why they never should–bureaucratic incompetence, shoddy security at the polls and the likelihood of long delays in determining the final results. He brings us more detail on each point in this presentation of PragerU.

They Say Scandinavia

What do Democratic Socialists like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez want America to look like? They say they want America to emulate Scandinavian countries like Denmark and Sweden. But do their proposed policies reflect that? Or do they point down a darker path? Debbie D’Souza, a native Venezuelan and political commentator, investigates. More from PragerU.

Where Do You Want To Live?

We’re supposed to be the United States of America, but in many ways, we’re now divided into two very different nations–Red State America and Blue State America. The red states favor conservative small-government policies, lower taxes, light regulations and tough-on-crime policing. The blue states, on the other hand, are more progressive, favoring a big-government approach, heavy regulations and higher taxes.

Progressive states contend that conservative policies are culturally backward and tend to favor the rich. Testing this theory, economist Stephen Moore compared the three largest blue states–California, New York and Illinois–to the three biggest red states–Florida, Texas and Tennessee. Moore posits that if progressive policies really work, then Americans should be rushing to these blue states. Fact is, just the opposite is happening.

Surprisingly, the migration is not a new phenomenon. Over the last decade, each of the three largest blue states lost an average of 1 million residents. You guessed it–most of them relocated in the three largest red states. The New York Times reported in August that so many people wanted to leave New York City that moving companies were turning away business.

“It makes sense,” Moore says. “Most people like freedom and small government means more freedom. And freedom means opportunity.”  Moore elaborates in this  episode of PragerU.

Leftism Has Become A Religion

As America has drifted from Judeo-Christian values, people have turned to Leftism to fill the void. PragerU’s Will Witt is on a mission to expose Leftism as a cult of shame, guilt and destruction.

Witt tells us of a visit to a California University to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. He and his entourage dressed up as Native Americans to celebrate the culture, but were immediately attacked by Leftists, hurling death threats, racist remarks and chasing them off campus and calling the ordeal cultural appropriation.

So after ruminating on the horrible experience, Witt decided to put their ideas to the test, driving 900 miles from Los Angeles to the Navajo Nation Reservation in Window Rock, Ariz. The encounter was stunning, to say the least. Not one of the Native Americans was offended by the Washington Redskins name, not one of them was offended by cultural appropriation and not one of them wanted other people getting offended for them on their behalf.

Says Witt, “It’s cultural appreciation, not appropriation. These young people, people my age, are going to universities now and are coming out more stupid than when they went in.” He says the white Leftists are on a mission, too. Their goal is to spread nonsense of how terrible America is, and that canceling and shaming people is how we should live our lives. Which only means one thing: White Leftists are the most racist people in America. Here’s more with Witt on PragerU.

Ballot Harvesting Must Go

“No one—NO ONE—should get in between a voter and the ballot box.” Preserving the integrity of our elections is NOT a partisan issue; it’s an American issue. So says U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, in a video made for PragerU.
