Did you know that the original draft of the Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson, contained a fiery passage that outlawed slavery and laid the blame for the atrocious practice squarely at the feet of King George III? Jefferson’s closest advisors in shaping the Declaration, John Adams and Benjamin Franklin, went along with the abolition of slavery.
But when the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Second Continental Congress, meeting in a hot and sealed-off chambers in Philadelphia in July of 1776, the delegates representing the 13 colonies wrestled over the document tooth and comb, and the passage abolishing slavery was thrown out, mostly owing to the objections of the delegates from Georgia and South Carolina. Democrats staged a howling protest at the Tennessee Capitol in Nashville as legislators voted to redistrict the state’s congressional seats, ending that racial gerrymandering that had essentially guaranteed a black district from Memphis. This follows the U.S. Supreme Court ending racial gerrymandering throughout the South. Other states, including Mississippi, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, also are expected to redraw their congressional districts.
Has Bill Gates or some other Deep State fraudster unleashed the hantavirus as a follow-up to Covid-19? Funny how the signs of a pandemic begin to drop right before another major nationwide election? More long-term Democratic lawmakers keep abandoning the left and switching their allegiance to the Republican Party.
In the past week, two more legislators did so, including Elle Cochran, the West Maui representative whose state House district in Hawaii was widely trashed during the 2024 Lahaina wildfires. Cochran has been highly critical of Democrats for ignoring the devastating plight endured by Maui residences. Her addition brings the state House to 10 Republicans — the first time the party has held double-digit membership in the past 20 years.
Also switching parties this week: Lucas Atkinson of South Carolina, who has served five terms in the state House as a Democrat, but no longer believes the party represents his constituents.
Across the nation, this trend is continuing at a rapid clip. There are four new Republicans converts for every new Democratic convert. This is what happens when you have a party, like the dumbo Democrats, who embrace radical and losing causes! Here’s more from Steve Turley.

Across the country, a new confederacy is rising—built not on states’ rights, but on resistance to federal immigration law.
As cities like Portland, Los Angeles and Chicago openly defy federal immigration laws, Victor Davis Hanson argues we’re seeing the rise of a “neo-Confederate secessionist ideology” where local officials act as if they’re above the law on today’s episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.”
“Sometimes it’s sponsored or encouraged by the Democratic Party: Gavin Newsom in California, our governor, or Karen Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles, openly calling for resistance, or Gov. Pritzker of Chicago.
“What’s really disturbing is we’re starting to see a new—I would call it—a neo-Confederate successionist ideology in these cities. In these blue cities, the officials who run them, the mayors or the police chiefs, believe they are a law unto themselves. In other words, within the confines of Chicago or within the confines of Portland, they can nullify all federal laws, just in the way that South Carolina said it could on the eve of the Civil War: The Union does not apply to us. We are morally superior.”
