Iranians Have Three Options

We’re 60 days into the conflict, and President Donald Trump has left the Iranian regime with three options:

The non-hard-liners could agree to the United States’ terms and surrender.

The regime could continue to try and win token victories—send out small PT boats and drones to attack freighters in the Strait of Hormuz.

Delay negotiations in the hopes that a more friendly Democratic administration comes to power in 2028, offering the theocrats more favorable terms, predicts Victor Davis Hanson on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In a Few Words.”

Booms En Route

The enemy does not go down without a fight. That’s why we’re now embroiled in the fight of our lives. We have many crooked parties to defeat — not just the corrupt Democrats, but also bloated globalists and swaggering terrorists, plus their minions, like the drug-running cartels. We can’t be shocked if they stand willing to roll out last-minute dirty tricks, They will backstab us until their last breathe.

Gone are the days of traitors like Barack Obama and Sleepy Joe Biden handing $1.7 billion in cash over to the Iranians so that regime could continue to foment terrorism across the Middle East. The strings have been cut, and we are returning to an American legacy, celebrating freedom of thought and independence. No, we will not be slaves nor will we bow down to hidden or criminal masters.

U.S. Troops Leaving Italy Soon

President Donald Trump is preparing to pull 13,000 American troops out of Italy. This comes after he had already closed down the two remaining American bases in Spain.

So it appears Trump has, in effect, begun to withdraw American support for NATO. Italy and Spain will be the first closures, but others likely will follow over the months, or years, ahead.

Spain, in particular, outraged Trump by refusing to allow American planes and ships headed toward Iran to transit through Spanish territory. Spain’s Socialists made a lot of political hay over the issue, but now, they are sucking sand and having to underwrite the full costs of their military bases. Here’s more  from Trish Regan.

Does Iranian Ship Hold Secrets?

The [Deep State] is panicking. They know President Donald Trump has control of Venezuela and the Strait and he has now captured an Iranian ship. Trump mentions that there is something on the ship that he can use.

Did Trump just get the map of the [Deep State] network? Are the logs of the ship going to expose the [Deep State]?

The End Is Near For Old Guard

The Deep State’s days are drawing to a close. President Donald Trump keeps milking the moment by highlighting Frank Sinatra’s classic song “My Way,” with its lyrics “And now, the end is near, And so I face the final curtain.”

We’re seeing several movies rolling together all at once, each reaching a climax. One involves election fraud. Will the FBI and U.S. Department of Justice finally offer definitive proof that past elections have been rigged and stolen? Who will be arrested? How will their cases be adjudicated?

Likewise, the Iran War goes back and forth. Is the war ongoing or has a ceasefire deal emerged? Is the Strait of Hormuz open for business, or still guarded by Iranian thugs firing artillery at oil ships? Will President Trump destroy every Iranian power plant and every bridge in Iran, as he’s pledged to do, if the Iranians continue to wage war?

Trump’s Warning To Britain

Susan Kokinda argues that recent U.S. actions framed as confronting Iran are actually aimed at dismantling the British imperial financial and geopolitical system. She cites Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s April 16 meeting with UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves, highlighting the on-record “Economic Fury” campaign and U.S. tracking of financial flows to Iran that allegedly lead to London.

The episode shows Trump is ending a decades-old “world extortion” model tied to the Strait of Hormuz, Lloyd’s war-risk insurance, and London’s commodity pricing power (gold, metals, oil benchmarks). It also points to an Israeli–Lebanon ceasefire and Trump prohibiting Israeli strikes, arguing this removes Netanyahu’s leverage built on a perpetual Iran threat.

One Disagreement, Total Revolt?

Operation Epic Fury was never the pretext for a larger, endless war, and the so-called anti-MAGA right—Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, or Marjorie Taylor Greene—should know better than to label it as such, argues Victor Davis Hanson on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In a Few Words.”

The whole subtext of the Iran campaign is this: While regime change is not the primary agenda, America’s weakening of the regime may spur people to rise up and overthrow the government.
