The 2026 midterm elections will produce a MAGA takeover in the U.S. Senate. That’s the prediction made here by Neil Johnson on his Lumberjack Logic show.
Johnson doesn’t project a monstrous change in the raw numbers. The Republicans now hold a 53-47 edge over the Democrats in the U.S. Senate. Johnson believes the next Senate will again be at least 53-47, with the Republicans holding an outside chance to add a seat or two. But even if the count remains 53-47, Republicans, and specifically MAGA Republicans, will be happier.
That’s because RINO turncoats like Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, John Cornyn of Texas and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana will be gone — replaced by Senators who will openly support the agenda of President Donald Trump as well as the vast majority of party members.
So we will not see the same chicanery we’ve seen under the current Senate term, waffling on the SAVE America Act and sticking a dagger in the backs of Republicans. We most certainly will welcome this change, and pray nothing sidetracks it.
John Cornyn has held his Senate seat from Texas for the past 24 years, but the RINO ran into an absolute buzzsaw in Tuesday’s primary runoff. Texans overwhelmingly voted to end Cornyn’s Senate tenure and shift instead to Ken Paxton, the MAGA-beloved Attorney General who had received the endorsement of President Donald Trump.
Paxton not only routed Cornyn in rural areas, but also amassed impressive victories in most of the urban centers of Texas, although Cornyn held his own in Dallas, while getting shellacked in Houston. Paxton received more than 60 percent of the vote, with Cornyn only managing less than 40 percent. The Associated Press called Paxton as the winner of the race at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
Elsewhere, longtime Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Al Green, an outspoken foe of Trump, got his shorts cleaned by Christian Menefee. Also apparently losing: Democratic House candidate Maureen Galindo, who had shocked voters with her extremist, anti-Israel rhetoric. It looks as if Johnny Garcia will clip her in House District 35, facing off against Republican Carlos de la Cruz in November.
Here is Paxton’s acceptance speech, presented by the Associated Press.
President Donald Trump has named Aaron Lucas as the successor to Tulsi Gabbard in her role as Director of National Intelligence. Gabbard announced her pending resignation on Friday, saying she will step down on June 30 to care for her husband Abraham Williams, who is struggling to ward off a crippling bone disease.
Lucas has served as Gabbard’s deputy director at the DNI. He is a former CIA agent, who served with the agency for nearly 20 years in a multitude of posts around the world.
Here, Fox News contributor Byron York discusses the transition and whether Lucas will encounter any resistance to his appointment when he appears before the U.S. Senate. One of the Republican members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence — John Cornyn of Texas — could be smarting as he did not receive a re-election endorsement from Trump. The president encouraged voters to elect Cornyn’s primary opponent Ken Paxton.
The game is over for the Deep State. You have no idea how evil and sick these people are!
We are witnessing big wins again for the USA! The holdout Republican Thomas Massie, an annoying gnat who upset President Donald Trump and worked to destroy party unity, got his butt walloped in Kentucky. And, now Trump is setting his sights higher — endorsing Ken Paxton for the U.S. Senate in Texas, over the crooked incumbent John Cronyn.
Pain and panic is sinking in for these enemies of the people. Pray we see justice, and at the minimum, their removal from office!
Likewise, we welcome President Trump’s efforts to beautify Washington D.C. — not only building the White House ballroom but also cleaning up the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Here’s more from And We Know.
Thomas Massie is the latest lying Libertarian and RINO flake to be thoroughly trounced by Republican voters. The seven-term U.S. Representative from the 4th District of Kentucky lost his primary Tuesday night to Ed Gallrein, who had been endorsed by President Donald Trump. With 96 percent of the vote counted, Gallrein led Massie 57,053 to 47,018 votes, close to a 10 point advantage.
Massie had perturbed Trump more than any other member of Congress. Trump, in fact, had tweeted urging Massie’s defeat and calling him “the worst and most unreliable Republican Congressman in the history of our Country.” They had tangled over the Iranian Conflict, the border wall, the Big Beautiful Bill and the Jeffrey Epstein revelations.
Massie’s ouster follows Louisiana rejecting two-term U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, a Republican who voted for the impeachment of Trump, and Indiana voters ousting State House members who refused to redistrict the state’s Congressional seats. These successes have emboldened Trump to support Ken Paxton in his bid to oust another RINO — U.S. Sen. John Cronyn of Texas.
The lesson here: Republican voters want legislators who will deliver results, not snotty-nosed RINOs and Libertarians blocking GOP legislation, citing personal whims. In short, we’re taking out the trailer trash. Here’s more from Doug In Exile.
