The mortality rate across the United States is below that of previous years. That’s right. Even with the increases owing to coronavirus, we are seeing a lowered death rate this spring. Seems to reflect much less influenza, plus a decrease in accidental deaths with everyone cooped up in their homes. Whatever the causes, we have little reason to fear falling victim to a massive plague. Yes, there have been coronavirus deaths, but nowhere near the numbers some had predicted.
