Sen. Mike Lee of Utah outlines the latest plans to get the America SAVE Act passed. This act has dragged on forever owing to obstructive opposition by a handful of senators, supported by Senate Majority Leader John Thune.
Thune would have you believe his team is taking a courageous stand, supporting Senate tradition. Enough of the bullshit!
Thune and his cronies need to be ousted from the Senate. They’re nothing traditional about their posturing. They are simply sticking their fat thumbs right in tge faces of the American people.

This weekend, while corporate media chases shiny distractions, five huge Trump stories are breaking that actually matter to your life and to Americaâs future. First, thereâs quiet but very good news on the SAVE America Act. After four Republicans betrayed voters on the first vote, a second vote flipped when Senator Susan Collins changed to âyesâ following a conversation with Senator Mike Lee. That gives Trump 50 GOP votes plus VP J.D. Vance for a functional 51âvote majority. The bill still needs 60 votes under the filibuster, but this proves that if the filibuster ever drops, Trump has the raw votes to ram through major electionâintegrity reforms and big pieces of his agenda.
At the same time, the swamp is fighting back hard. A leftâwing federal judge just shredded one of Trumpâs commonâsense immigration safeguards, blocking a policy that put green cards, work permits, and some asylum decisions on hold for people from 39 highârisk countries after an Afghan migrant allegedly shot two National Guard troops. Trump based the pause on security data and taxpayer costs; the judge smeared it as âantiâimmigrant,â reopening the pipeline and putting foreign interests ahead of American workers.
Out in California, confidence in elections is taking another hit as late mailâin ballot dumps erode Spencer Prattâs lead and heavily favor farâleft Nithya Raman, while the establishment shrugs and says, âThatâs just how mailâins work.â And overseas, Trump is walking a tightrope: nearly 100 days into his âEpic Furyâ campaign on Iran, U.S. forces are still intercepting drones and missiles while Tehran blames America for âbreakingâ a ceasefire Iran keeps violating. Meanwhile, Zelensky has suddenly called for direct talks with Putin and a temporary ceasefire, trying to grab the worldâs attention before Ukraine falls off Washingtonâs radar.
Taken together, these stories show exactly where we are: Trump is gaining leverage in the Senate, exposed by activist judges at home, undercut by sketchy election systems, and tested abroadâyet still fighting to put American citizens first. Here’s more from Stephen Gardner.
Mike Lee, the Republican Senator from Utah who is the chief sponsor of the SAVE Act, is now “guardedly optimistic” that he and Senate Majority Leader John Thune have figured out a way to get the election reform bill passed. This is key because the bill has languished for quite some time in the Senate, owing to fierce opposition from Democrats and the existence of a few Republican holdouts.
The holdouts have been the problem — the Republicans only have 53 Senators, so a couple of defections could put the bill under the table. But Lee, his ally Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana and Thune believe they can prevail when the bill is due to come up for a vote later this week. Their plan involves using a hybrid of the Senate’s rules governing “talking filibusters.”
Let’s hope this happens, not only so our elections won’t be so corrupt and fraudulent, but also to put the House and Senate working together again to move the country forward. The Senate’s delays have not only pissed off the majority of American voters who support the bill, but also the majority of House Representatives backing it. Some, like Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, have vowed not to pass any legislation whatsoever until the Senate delivers on the SAVE ACT. Here’s more from Steve Turley.
