The Democryssey

The Democryssey: House of 1200 D.C., the first feature created by X animator dff.

It’s a take-off on The Odyssey, but involving characters from today’s political scene in America.

We’re giving it top billing today because it merits widespread attention. Down with the tyrants! And long live our Resistance!

Why Does Nolan Hate Rabbits?

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has come under fire from historians and online critics for one unforgivable historical inaccuracy: Turning the famous large wooden rabbit into a horse.

Viewers and scholars are demanding answers. Why replace the historically accurate Trojan Rabbit with a horse? Is this Hollywood revisionism? Artistic license gone too far? Or just another case of studios refusing to respect ancient source material? Here’s more from The Babylon Bee.

The Wrong Hill To Die On

Bridget Phetasy went and saw Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey this weekend and has a confession to make — she loved it. Zero pee breaks in a nearly three-hour movie. That’s the highest rating she can give.

She breaks down why the culture war around the casting is an idiotic hill to die on, and why the actual controversy nobody’s talking about is 70mm IMAX privilege. That’s what’s really pissing off the white dudes. Here’s more from Phetasy in a new edition of The Dumpster Fire.

Hollywood Dummy Speaks

Anne Hathaway, the deluded star from The Odyssey, rips into straight, white men in a dumb speech she gave back in 2018.

Following the success of the film, the speech has resurfaced on the Internet, generating widespread controversy.

How can Hollywood continue to offend and piss off half its audience. Will these clucking leftists ever learn? Here’s more from The Salty Cracker.

How To Be A Man!

Elliot Page — still widely known as Ellen Page from Juno and Inception — sat down with ‘comedian’ Ilana Glazer for a half hour interview about masculinity, transgender identity, gay animals and more. SugarTits and I have pulled out the parts worth watching.

This comes right after the rumor that Elliot Page would be playing Achilles in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey — which turned out to be false, but produced some of the funniest AI memes of the year, several of which we react to.

In the actual interview, Elliot Page’s advice on masculinity includes: don’t ra*pe anyone, smile more for photos, talk with your hands less, and remember that sometimes healthy masculinity just means having a good cry. At one point Page argues the trans experience can liberate everyone from shame imposed by white supremacist patriarchal structures — a sentence even Page seems to lose track of halfway through.

Let’s delve through the copious amounts of queer vocal fry and listen to two women sit in a room explaining to men what masculinity actually means.

LET’S GO!! Here’s more from Bearing.

The Odyssey’s Achilles Heel

For reason’s known only to Baal, the nominally normal Christopher Nolan has cast his upcoming blockbuster in a somewhat… baroque fashion.

Accident or Activism? Here’s a new edition of The Right Angle. Steve Green leads the discussion, joined by Scott Ott and Bill Whittle.

Nolan Desecrates The Odyssey

Christopher Nolan desecrates The Odyssey, one of the greatest epics of all time.

What was Nolan’s motivation? He’d do anything to win an Oscar. Here’s more from Mr. Reagan.

Selective Outrage

Since Christopher Nolan decided to take on The Odyssey with his new adaptation, I’ve been following all of the drama around everything from the casting to the costumes… and most of the outrage has been from the left. Until now. Here’s more from Brett Cooper.

The Black Helen Of Troy?

Black actress Lupita Nyong’o has reportedly been cast as Helen of Troy in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic film adaptation of The Odyssey.

Let’s react. Here’s more from Amala Ekpunobi.
