News Making Your Head Spin

It’s hard to know where to start. We could just roll through a Twitter/X feed and read the posts. From Hunter Biden’s nine indictments to the Alex Jones interview with Tucker and the black woman who tried to burn down MLK Jr’s home in Atlanta, the news is happening so fast, it makes your head spin. So rather than try to weave a thread that connects one thing to another, let’s just dig in and see what has grabbed today’s headlines. Here’s more from Lori Colley.

Slamming Woke Culture

We are all battling in the woke culture wars, which essentially is an existential threat to society. And the bad guys are employing it to actively destroy Western civilization.

Liberal Hivemind says it’s almost a call to duty for us to say and do something about it. He reminds us that it’s not just a mere tussle against Black Lives Matter and Antifa, but we’re going up against the corrupt Democrat Party and the many corporations that follow along like sheep. In the following video, Liberal Hivemind features a courageous Ivy League professor, music legend Roger Daltry from The Who and singer-songwriter Glenn Danzig, who speak out strongly against the woke culture, much to the chagrin of the Left.

Dissing The Constitution

Yet another institution of higher learning from the Ivy League–America’s bastion of liberalism–is rearing its progressive head. This week’s target is the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees citizens their basic rights and freedoms, yet many Yale University students think it’s a great idea to completely repeal it.

In this digital short from PragerU, Ami Horowitz headed to Yale with a fake petition, asking students if they would favor repealing the Constitution in its entirety. The response was shocking, with students calling the Constitution racist, containing no real freedoms and written by white supremacists. Says Horowitz, “Sixty-five percent of everyone I spoke with signed my petition to get rid of the Constitution of the United States of America.” Meanwhile, a woman close by spent the entire day attempting to register students to vote. She did not register one single person. Here’s more with Horowitz on PragerU.

Twitter PR Exec Banned Trump

In retrospect, the permanent ban of President Trump from Twitter can be described as a cultural event. Why? Because Trump pretty much lived on Twitter. It was his unique way of expressing his personality by sidestepping the media and perhaps the most powerful method of connecting with his constituents.

But as we contemplate the aftermath of the censorship, looney Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey wasn’t solely responsible for the banishment, although he whole-heartedly supported it. The true architect of Trump’s suspension was Vidaya Gadde, a PR executive at Twitter and, ironically, the daughter of ulra-conservative Indian immigrants, who moved to the U.S. in the late 1970s or early ’80s. She received an Ivy League education at Cornell and went to New York University Law School, before making a beeline to Silicon Valley. Says Dinesh D’Souza, Gadde was probably part of the great Indian diaspora of very conservative Indian families who came to America. “If you look at the way they behave, it’s to the right of Pat Robertson.”

So how did Gadde assume an ideology that was so alien to what her culture believes and thinks. D’Souza says the answer is simple. What happens to these Asian Americans who attend elite schools and plant themselves in progressive American cities, is that they assimilate to progressive culture. “In other words, they want to become American, and becoming American for them is assimilating to the culture of Yale, or the culture of Cornell or the culture of San Francisco.” He adds that part of this assimilation is coming up with made-up stories of gender discrimination or racism. A sad epithet, indeed.

Here’s more from D’Souza, including is own skit of what really happened in the Gadde family.

Freeloader U.

If you haven’t noticed, colleges are getting filthy rich with the massive subsidies and tax breaks they receive from government–all at the expense of students and taxpayers. To put it in perspective, the college business model is actually totally dependent on taxpayers.

And rest assured that their spending habits have gone through the roof. Take Yale University, which pays no property tax on its dining hall, much to the chagrin of surrounding restaurants in New Haven, Conn., and even boasts its own pizza oven in addition to a luxurious golf course on campus. Farther west, the University of Utah has used some of its riches for a student crying room! You just can’t make this stuff up.

A closer look at government tax breaks reveals that colleges and universities are doing quite well, thank you. Yale boasts a $31 billion endowment, while fellow Ivy League school Harvard’s fund is at $40 billion. Yet taxpayers keep doling out the moolah in the way of cash grants and more than $1 trillion nationwide in student loans. It’s how colleges have gotten away with jacking up their tuition at four times the rate of inflation.

Inez Stepman, an education policy researcher at the Independent Women’s Forum, says almost half of the students don’t graduate in six years and end up with an $80,000 debt without a degree. “They’re not making wiser citizens,” she says. “They’re making citizens who hate their country.”  Here’s more with Stepman and consumer journalist John Stossel.
