Ryan Wesley Routh, the new would-be Trump assassin, is quite predictably a leftwing CIA-connected mercenary with ties to Ukraine. He has friends in high places because he knew precisely where Trump would be on Sunday afternoon, and which hole on the Trump International Golf Course was the most vulnerable. We’re fortunate he wasn’t that precise of a shot, and that he was spotted by the Secret Service before he could get closer.
Some wise commentators are urging Trump to hole away in a bunker until the election is over. But that would give the Democrats what they want — freer reign to campaign and cheat with abandon.
