Rebel fighters have begun to ambush the Iranian military. Checkpoints near Tehran have been struck, some of them manned by the Basif, a volunteer paramilitary force under the Islamic Republic operating as part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
There have also been reports of Kurds assembling along the border of Iraq and Iran, although it remains to be seen whether they have attacked any military outposts or are merely defending their own villages. Here’s more from The Salty Cracker.
Iran has reportedly selected Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s son Mojtaba as its new supreme leader. This was expected, but still a decision that has remained shrouded in quite a bit of secrecy.
After all, Iran figured that as soon as Mojtaba was declared its leader, he would become a heavy target for assassination by Israel or the United States. U.S. President Donald Trump already had warned Iran not to appoint Mojtaba. He’s a zealot and a hardliner, much like his father.

Israel and the United States launched a “preventative missile attack” on Iran Friday night, prompting counter-strikes against sites in Israel as well as American Air Force and Naval bases across the Middle East. Missile or drone strikes were reported in nations including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Syria, Kuwait, Jordan and Iraq.
Numerous Iranian officials reportedly were assassinated, including President Masoud Beyzeshkian, the defense minister and the head of the judiciary. The Ayatollah Ali Khameini was not among those killed. He supposedly has gone into hiding outside of the capital city of Tehran. There were other conflicting reports he would deliver a speech on TV. Of course, there are said to be many Khameini body doubles.
Here, President Donald Trump accuses Iran of engaging in “mass terror from Lebanon to Yemen” and says, “we’re not going to put up with it any longer.” He called on the people of Iran to finish off the job and throw out Khameini. M.J. Truth picks up Trump’s press conference.
Fox News is now reporting that an Israeli strike took out the Ayatollah Ali Khameini. Fox News cited Israel as the source of the confirmation.

The United States military led precision strikes Saturday on the three major nuclear facilities in Iran — Fordow, Esfahan and Natanz. President Donald Trump announced the strikes in a press conference in the East Room at the White House, flanked by Vice President J.D. Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
This follows weeks of intense fighting between Israel and Iran. Israel begged the United States to join the attacks, lacking the capability to do much direct damage on the three underground, heavily fortified nuclear sites. All three sites are to the south of Iran’s capital city of Tehran.
“Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success,” Trump said in his roughly four-minute speech. “Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated.” Here’s more from MJTruth.
