Protests Engulf Iranian Regime

As protests in Iran enter their second week, speculation grows over whether the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will flee, perhaps to Russia. The protests have now spread to 23 of Iran’s 31 provinces. At least 16 individuals have been killed.

Protesters are angry toward the Iranian regime after a sharp decline in the value of the Iranian currency, the rial. It was been plunging vis a vis the American dollar, down to new record lows.

This has resulted in economic crises on the home front, with many citizens unable to afford food, rent and the basics of life. Here’s more from Firstpost.

Covid Hits Democratic Counties

Democrat Policy Is DESTROYING Cities, Making COVID Worse, And Collapsing The Economy. The latest report from the New York Times lays it out very simply: Hillary Clinton counties are hit harder than Trump counties.

But why is this?

The simple answer is policy. Many Democrats are reacting to fear and refusing to follow the science. Even Andrew Cuomo acknowledged on May 6th most infections were coming from people in the home. If that’s true why extend the lockdown?

Now that I can’t tell you but now Democratic states and governors are demanding federal bailout money by threatening to lay off first responders and health care workers.

If the Democrats policy is causing more damage both in terms of infections and in terms of economic collapse what will voters think come November? More from Tim Pool.

Dems Sabotaging Our Economy

As the House prepares for its historic vote on the $2 trillion coronavirus relief bill today, the evidence is clear that Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senator Chuck Schumer and the Democrats are intent on sabotaging the entire process. In an effort to disrupt quick passage of the bill, Pelosi mounted an 11th-hour attack by throwing a bunch of poison pills into the legislation to advance the Democrats’ left-wing agenda.

A Perfect Storm

A perfect storm could cripple China for a generation. Politically and economically, China is now mired in a quicksand. Even if the nation is lucky enough to pull out from the coronavirus epidemic anytime soon, it might take decades before China regains its strength and can again move ahead. The Coronavirus is out of control and has taken a huge toll on the United States economy. The stock market plummeted more than 1000 points on Monday. How far will it go? And is the Coronavirus really just an illness that has naturally occurred? Or is it a bioweapon that was designed to reduce the world’s population so that the global elite could have earth’s resources all to themselves and bring America to its knees? OK…despite more worldwide infections than ever, the WHO has decided to stop using the (technically very accurate) term “pandemic” to describe covid-19, presumably because they don’t want to scare folks.

The CDC is claiming that the US is not seeing “community level” spreading of the virus. But of course it isn’t, because it’s NOT testing at the community level. And only 3 US states currently have the capacity to run such tests, due to faulty kits being provided to the other states.

Then there’s State Department’s botched rescue of US citizens stuck on the Diamond Princess cruise ship, during which poor safety controls allowed 25 more folks to get infected on the flight back to the US.

And these are the authorities we’re depending on??

China, meanwhile, is lowering response levels in several provinces, setting the stage for workers to head back to the factories. BUT…they’ve postponed the National People’s Conference. So, it’s still too serious for the the ‘important’ people to be in public, but the plebes have nothing to worry about??

China is facing a lose-lose decision: maintain their widespread quarantines to contain the virus, but kill their economy? Or send people back to work, and risk infecting millions more?

Today, the markets *finally* started to show concern for the hit global trade is taking from this growing crisis. If the euphoria pushing markets to new highs is dissipating, there is an awful lot of empty space below today’s asset prices compared to their fundamentals-based valuations. Translation = the markets can fall a LOT farther from here.

To reiterate our guidance: the time to prepare — physically and financially — is NOW. As China, Italy, South Korea, Iran and other countries are showing us, a government lockdown happens swiftly, slamming shut your window to act. More from Chris Martenson.
