The President Donald Trump hostile mainstream media has finally gotten their wish as Alex Jones and Infowars were banned from YouTube, iTunes, Spotify and a host of other distribution platforms. Under the guise of ‘hate speech” one of the most prominent alternative media voices in the world has been removed from public view on major platforms – prompting a fierce debate about the power of social media companies in modern times. “Hate speech” is a political concept and should be regarded as such. More from Sargon of Akkad.
CNN was able to publish a story about Alex Jones 2 minutes before Twitter announced Jones would be banned. This, in turn, allowed CNN to, in a sense, profit off of a story in which they are a subject.
Oliver Darcy said that Jones was banned last month due to media pressure. CNN was given advanced information about the incoming ban on Jones after their continued pressure.
Is this collusion? CNN was putting pressure on Twitter by Darcy’s own statement and Twitter then gave them advanced knowledge of the ban and they were able to profit from the story.
